After weeks of preparation, the first-ever sold-out Ice Chips performance debuted, starring athletes from the Skating Club of Boston, ranging from Olympians who had just come back from Milan, Italy, to new skaters who might have been stepping on Ice Chips ice for the first time ever.
On February 28 and March 1, the Skating Club of Boston was full of eager figure skating fans watching the skating club’s annual performance of Ice Chips. The performance starred many talented skaters, and some of those skaters who performed also recently competed in the 2026 Winter Olympic Games held in Milan and Cortina, Italy.

This year’s theme for the Ice Chips performance was “A World Journey.” Each group was separated by the skating level of each kid, and step-out performances were also given to individual skaters who wanted to display their program and skills individually. Each group was also assigned a country to represent.
Hannah Lee, a skater who performed at Ice Chips in the group that represented India, described the experience as “so much fun and such an amazing opportunity to skate with such amazing skaters and have fun with my friends.”

Along with the members of the Skating Club of Boston who performed at Ice Chips, there were also special guests who made an appearance at the show who had recently competed at the 2026 Olympic Games. Those people included Alysa Liu, Maxim Naumov, Aleksandr Selevko, Emily Chan, and Spencer Akira Howe. Liu and Naumov competed on behalf of Team USA for the singles events, and Chan and Akira competed for the pairs events representing Team USA. Selevko competed on behalf of Estonia at the Olympic Games. Along with these Olympic athletes that compete, Jimmy Ma, the 2025 Four Continents bronze medalist, also performed at the show.
The most anticipated skater, however, was Alysa Liu because of her recent accomplishment at the Olympics. Ice Chips was the first performance she did after winning gold in Italy, and the audience was ecstatic when she performed. In the show, she performed two programs.
After the last show’s finale, the performers were allowed to skate around and take photos with their friends, but Alysa Liu also stayed so that the performers could also take photos with her.
Hannah Lee said meeting Alysa Liu was, “an incredible once in a lifetime experience, it was so cool meeting all the performers in the show and taking fun selfies with them.”
Along with Alysa Liu, many other performers stayed behind to take photos with everyone, including the Olympians.
