The most competitive place in the world: a high school parking lot. Whether at 8 am or 2:50pm, a high school parking lot is a combination of impressive skills, questionable decisions, and lots of questions; Who’s the worst? Who’s the best?
After surveying students, certain names kept coming up— sometimes for good reasons, and sometimes for, well, not so good ones. Here are the superlatives that stood out the most:
—

Safest Driver
Known for smooth turns and rolling stops, Gabi Yoseff (Senior) has been recognized as the Safest Driver. Cautious and aware, Gabi stands out among most.
“Great, I’m very cautious on the roads.”
—
Worst Parker

Whether it’s crooked, over the line, or taking up two spots, Ayla McCahon (Senior) believes lines are more of a suggestion than a rule, taking the spot (no pun intended) of Worst Parker.
“I honestly expected that, I’m not surprised. I’ve been trying to get better, but I’m in the lines, and that’s all that matters.”
—
Most Likely to Run a Red Light
All gas and no breaks, Olivia Tucker (Senior) speeds her way to the top spot of the driver who is Most Likely to Run a Red Light.
“If it’s a blatant red light, I’m not running it, but if it’s yellow I’m going through it— Oh well.”

—
Most Likely to Hit a Curb/Another Car
Also nominated for the title of Most Likely to Hit a Curb/Another Car, Olivia Tucker (Senior) makes another appearance, proving that speed does not always equal accuracy.
“I have not hit that many curbs in my lifetime of driving. The last time I ran over a curb was a very tight turn.”
—

Messiest Car
Though a vehicle, Sylvie Deeks (Senior) embraces the idea of making a “house” a home, sweeping the title of Messiest Car.
“I feel honored to get that title. My car is an abyss that never gets cleaned out and if you wanna go in it, it’s an honor.”
—
Oldest Car
What should really be in a museum sits in Daniel Macedo Gomez’s (Senior) garage. His 2006 Prius, named Prianka, wins Daniel the title of Oldest Car.
“She’s very old and she’s been banged from behind many times but she’s very reliable and I love her.”

We may all be headed to the same place everyday, but how we get there is what makes these superlatives memorable.
