Mustangs wide receiver Sam Larkee had three touchdowns, and quarterback Kevin Roach had an excellent game, and was able to achieve 1000-rushing yards in his last season with the Mustangs.
The game started with the Marauders winning the toss and deciding to receive the ball. Chase Chastanet and John Walenten had amazing defensive play, with both having one interception and Chastanet with a touchdown. During the last few minutes of the game, Freshman quarterback Joe Larkee got a chance to show his ability, and let’s just say that kid is amazing. On his first play ever in a varsity game against the rival team, he gave a beautiful pass to his own brother, Sam Larkee, for the last touchdown of his career, a perfect ending to finish his high school career.
The game ended with a score of 42-0 victory for the Mustangs.
The Mustangs ended their season with a 3-8 record, while the Marauders ended with 2-8.
“I’m just really happy that we won our Thanksgiving game and then we ended off the season on a win since we didn’t have the best record,” said senior Jurgen Shuhaipi.
“It was very, very emotional. The season didn’t go the way we had hoped, but we’re glad to have ended with a big win,” said senior Shayne Perry.
“So, considering it was my last game and my last ever game, I had a lot more energy than I normally would have, and I already have a lot of energy whenever it comes to sport,” said senior Christian Dalencourt-Wilson
Dalencourt-Wilson was one of the best defensive players on the team, and he showed how strong and reliable he is. Christian also talked about their record this season.
“Honestly, like it wasn’t the best record and like if we had more seniors because there were only nine of us, which is just like not a lot at all, but we did the best we were able to with the amount of seniors that we had,” he said.
