Elizabeth Doyle is a new Biology and Anatomy and Physiology teacher at Norwood High School for Sophomore and Senior students.
She did not always know that she wanted to be a teacher. Working as a camp counselor helped influence her decision to work in the teaching field later in life.
“I never really thought about teaching and then many people were like ‘oh you’re really good around kids, you should consider doing this as a job’ so then I thought about it more,” she said.

Though Doyle is a new teacher here at Norwood, she previously taught at Natick High School for two years teaching similar classes but different grades.
“I’m teaching biology which is consistent, but this year I am teaching anatomy and physiology which I didn’t teach at Natick.” she said. “I was teaching a different grade level at Natick so that’s a bit different. My juniors had biology whereas now I have sophomores.”
She has always loved teaching science and seeing the problem-solving that comes with the students’ learning.
“I love seeing students’ reactions when they find something interesting or when they start to understand something that they didn’t,” she said.
Doyle has loved the community here at Norwood High School so far and the transition has been smooth with the help of mentors from the science department including Ann Sheffield and Stephanie Lemieux.

“I like the community here at Norwood better than Natick just because it’s a bit closer knit, which I like.” she says. “The students are very very kind and so is the staff, so it’s been a good experience.”
