Anna Edgren is the new Biology and Honors Chemistry teacher here at Norwood High School.
Even though Edgren looks young for her age, this is not her first time walking the halls of a high school as a teacher.
¨I worked at Watertown High School, and I worked at a daycare as a preschool teacher,” she said.
Edgren worked four and a half years as a preschool teacher before she transferred to Watertown High, where she worked in the science department for a year before transferring to Norwood.
¨When I was working in Watertown, the biggest difference was that it was a temporary high school,¨she said, ¨We didn’t have a cafeteria, gym, or anything. So I really couldn’t really do any like fun pep rallies or spirit days.¨

She has only worked at Norwood for a few months now, but is already feeling the school spirit and loves the school and the people in the NHS community.
¨I like how friendly and all the other staff and teachers are, and how willing they are to help me learn the school,¨ she said.
Even though there are struggles in being a new teacher in a new school, like not knowing all the other teachers or knowing the students as well as other teachers, Edgren always makes the classroom uplifting and a place students can go when they need help or just support.
¨I feel like her class is just really fun. She finds ways to have students interact with each other and do fun group activities, but still learning,” said sophomore Sheayln Coyle, who takes Honors Chemistry with Edgren. ¨And personally, I feel like she’s a really good teacher because she’s really understanding and accepts students.¨
