Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential candidate, is currently serving as Vice President of the United States during Joe Biden’s presidency. Born in 1964, Harris is of African American and Asian American descent, making her the first Asian and African American vice president in history. Prior to her vice presidency, Harris also served as a district attorney in Alameda County in California from 2004-2011 and became Attorney General until 2017, where she focused on helping the environment and criminal reform issues. In 2017, she became a Senator for the state of California, and spoke on cases regarding issues such as education, tax reform, and criminal justice, a callback to her career as an attorney.
Donald J. Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, was previously the 45th President of the United States, serving in office from 2016-2020. Before his term in office, Trump was a popular face in sports, reality, and other media. He starred in the reality show The Apprentice for the show’s first fourteen seasons running from 2004 to 2015. He also took over his family’s real estate business, The Trump Organization, in 1971. Also related to his prior business ventures, Trump wrote multiple different books on ways to make more money.
