Artstangs had their first meeting on Tuesday, September 23, 2025. The club meets every Tuesday and is focused on art projects that benefit the community in various ways.
Senior vice-president of the club, Antonette Bridgemohan, explained the club’s mission.
“We’re a community-based club (…) we usually do it [art] for a charity or something around town,” she said.
The club is currently working on creating portraits of children from Armenia for The Memory Project. The Memory Project is a youth art organization that promotes intercultural understanding and kindness between the people of the world.
In addition, Artstangs creates ceramic bowls, sells them at the yearly Fine Arts Festival and donates the proceeds to charity. The project is a lot of fun for everyone involved, and it helps the community.
“Making them [bowls] with clay is honestly really fun, and I like feeling like I’m helping,” said Bridgemohan.
The club has also painted murals in the school in the past “I really want to do the mural. I really want to do the mural.”
Another event the club holds is the ice cream social, where people can come together to celebrate the club and eat some ice cream.
The club does have a few things planned for the future.
“We’re still trying to figure out most of our events because we want to do a lot of new things; we’re still brainstorming,” Bridgemohan said.
