Mustangs huddling before kick-off
The losses have stacked up, but the Norwood soccer team isn’t hanging its head. Instead, players are eager to put “1” in the win column.
The Norwood Mustangs fell against the Norton Lancers at home on Thursday, September 18, now 0-2 at home, making the Mustangs recorded a whopping 0-5. The Mustangs had the advantage of being at home, but didn’t perform.

The Norton Lancers started the first half scoring two skillful goals. After those two goals, the Mustangs and the Lancers were fighting to score.
The Mustangs should have won this game since they had way too many chances and didn’t score.
Senior Left Winger John Lynch opened up many opportunities for himself and teammates to score. Unfortunately, the Mustangs didn’t show up.
The Mustangs didn’t give up and fought until the game ended.
Winning this game would’ve been big for the Mustangs since they were 0-3 at home, but now bringing the losing streak up to 0-4 games at home.
Junior Brennan Lopez knows winning this game would’ve been big for the Mustangs.

“Winning this game against the Lancers would’ve been our first home game win and could’ve broken our losing streak,” said Lopez.
Lopez and the Mustangs are still looking to get their first win.
The Mustangs continue looking to redeem themselves from last year. Their next opportunity is against Dover-Sherborn on Thursday, September 25 on the home field.
Junior Helio Ganda Da Silva doesn’t want this season to end up like last year’s season.
“Last year we only won one game, and I really hope we can show the fans that last year’s record doesn’t define our team,” Da Silva said.
