Spring means one thing: spring sports!
Last year, the freshman baseball team ended their season with 11 wins, 2 losses, and 1 tie.
Tryouts for this season were from March 17 to 22, Coach Matt Jeannetti has made his decision on the players that will be playing this season.
New freshmen include Ben Niemisto, Chase Nataupsky, Gabe Hair, Liam Reynolds, Rocco Sheehan, Joe Roffi, Brody Johnson, Devin Dwyer, JD McCarthy, Shawn Needham, Matt Needham, Josh Randall, Patty McCarthy, Dante Rojas Maldonado, Stathi Sikalis, Raymond Cloonan, Nick Serratore
The freshman look to improve their skills throughout the season
“We mesh really well together as a team, and I think that will translate into a great season overall,” said freshman pitcher Ben Niemisto
The freshman baseball team won their first game 12-3 against Westwood High. This victory will motivate them to keep playing well.
Freshman Raymond Cloonan feels positive about their season.
“We are 4 and 1, so I think we’re gonna finish the season off on a high note,” said Cloonan
They played Medfield on May 1st and won 5-2.
Cloonan believes that they’ve already tackled their big challengers already.
“We’ve played against most of the teams that we are gonna play against this season,” said Cloonan
