The NHS National Honor Society held a blood drive in the gym on Wednesday, March 5th. Students and teachers were able to go to the gym and donate blood for the American Red Cross Blood Donation.
The American Red Cross holds blood drives so people can donate their blood to those who need it. Donating blood is highly encouraged because we cannot manually make blood. The only way to get blood is from donations.
The blood drive held here at NHS was very successful, and it made a lot of people feel good about themselves and helped out the community.
“ A lot of people need blood and by one person donating it saves three lives” junior James Saulnier explained.
Another way to create an impact is not just by donating blood but also by helping out with the drive like some of the National Honors Society students did.
“Even if I can’t donate blood myself, volunteering and helping spread the word still saves lives,” said senior Tessa Lahaise
Senior Jullya Pereira donated blood.
“It helped save a life and whatever I can do to help I will,” she said.
